Maybe he didn't have to, but he did singing about shooting his woman and snorting lots of cocaine. Both in the same song!

Johnny Cash is one of my alltime favorites and I own several of his cds and I listen to music by people who were strongly influenced by him (Hank III, Corb Lund, Mike Ness...) but he was a criminal for long stretches of his life. A drug addict, hell even a smuggler. He admitted as much.

I can't stand Tupac's music, but this does seem hypocritical to me. They were both gangsters and they both played up a gangster image to the benefit of their careers. [/b][/quote]

I saw Corb Lund at on the Island on Saturday. Probably going to go to his show at the U of C.
