I was really stoked to play this game, but my interest waned a little after reading some of the reviews. Although I haven't played all the FFs to completion, I still love the games. I really liked FF10 and FF12, though it irked me a little that SquareEnix built these incredible worlds and the framework of engaging characters only to have the story and characters feel under-developed. I've played 2 hrs of FF13 thus far and I'm pretty sure I'll feel the same way about this game once I'm done

Daradon, if you thinking of buying FF13 for that wide-open FF12 experience, you're likely to be disappointed. The game is supposed to just as linear as FF10 and only busts wide open in Chapter 11 of 13, after about 30hrs in. Although the last 2 Chapters apparently take about another 30hrs to play through if you do side quests, etc.

The one thing that's really hooked me with this game is the detail in the environments. The world of Cocoon is so rich. I really wish that they'd let you explore more in the early sections of the game.
