Too bad human attention is limited to one (main) thing at once.
The problem with driving is 99% of the time there are zero problems and you can look down, talk on the phone, or what have you.
It's the 1% of the time that being very attentive and scanning the road/not tailgating or speeding will save you money, time, trouble, and even your life.
