You can have pretty much anyone come in the door, and they'll be able to play a good chunk of the games that are out there in a couple minutes, even if they're a non-gamer. The age range of people who I've played with is almost 70 years, and everyone's enjoyed it. It also gets a fair bit of play with the girlfriend. Some of the games seem pretty silly, but can still be quite a bit of fun. The virtual console and WiiWare offerings can also be worth checking out.

After having the wii for a short time and playing some of the 'top rated titles' I have go say I dont much care for it as a console to keep me occupied while it's just me playing. On the other hand, it seems like a great thing to have while people are over. I think I mya just get a few fun multiplayer games for 360 instead of spending 300 dollars on a wii + 2 new controllers and nunchuks to keep friends interested the rare time i have 2+ ppl over at once
