We got in the tank from the beginning and during the entire match it blew up maybe twice, because as soon as it'd get hurt or we'd be in the clear I would jump out and heal it. In 4 games it got my Squad score from 300 to 2000.
Me and my friend make a good pilot/gunner tandem in the heli as well. Unfortunately we play with n00bs who as soon as they get in nose dive it, then try and recover by barrel rolling into a building. It is annoying, albeit extremely hilarious.

You can't compare console gamer points with PC gamer points when you are dealing with shooters and snipers with lightning fast, pinpoint mouse accuracy. Console and PC Battlefield are very different gaming experiences. There are also a lot more vetrans of Battlefield on the PC due to the early beta and generally higher skill overall than your typical console matchmaking game.
Good news for PC players, my friend tells me another 30 hardcore servers opened up tonight. This dedicated server (if rented from EA) thing isn't as bad as I thought.
