Surprised about the Burleson move...obviously not hanging the franchise tag on him but came out and said a few days ago (edit, week ago
http://blog.seattlepi.com/football/archives/195931.asp ) that he was 99% coming back to SEA and loved it there.
No way SEA would match that contract though, no way.
Kampman? Meh. The LB core is ok, he could replace Kerney but injuries and Seattle don't mix it seems the last few years, so to get a guy who missed 10 games last years...well, not sure if you want to get in a bidding war for him, that's all.
Marshall, that would be interesting. They now have a spot for a receiver with Burleson (Branch and Houshmenzadeh) gone. Of course, Bates and the QB coach were in Denver when Marshall was a couple years back, so there's the connection. Talent is there, its the off field distractions and atittude that Carroll has to figure out if its worth it in his rebuild.
The first pick 6 overall? Normally I'd say no, but the money at that draft spot you're forced to pay an unproven rookie, you can pay to Marshall. Thanks to Denver, Seattle gets a pick 8 spots later. At 14 you'll still get a good player.
All depends on Carroll and his direction...Seattle HAS to start to address the mid-range plan for the QB position, both starting and certainly backup, ASAP.
