I didn't invest 5+ seasons watching Sayid struggle to attone to himself only to have him do a presto chango morph into an unrepentant killer just to fit on one team for the Final Battle

The show, especially starting season 2 has been about good vs. evil/bad, the losties and the others (previously assumed evil people), white/black. I think the concept of good and bad wasn't just portrayed through man vs. man, but man vs. self.
Starting from season 1 up till now, we have been learning about the characters through their flashbacks, and their lives on and off the island. Like Sayid they were/are all struggling with the good and bad within themselves.
I think it was one of the best episodes. As much as I feel upset about losing the real "Sayid," I think the new Sayid is going to be amazing, even better!
