CTV, TSN and Sportsnet coverage was far, far more jingoistic - obviously rooting for a particular team - than the American coverage was.
On the other hand, NBC discovered in 2002 that lumping the Canadians in with American achievements was a surprising ratings winner for them and they continued in the same vein this time as well, probably with similar success.
Obscure moments that stood out . . . .
Al Micheals leading off his morning show with the the entire clip of Tess Virtue and Scott Moir belting out the Canadian anthem.
In fact, most of the Canadian anthem ceremonies were televised in their entirety.
They seemed to have an eye for hot Canadian women . . . . . Ashleigh MacIvor, Joannie Rochette and Tessa Virtue (along with Scott Moir, the afterthought) brought into the studio for interviews with Costas/Michaels.
An oddly placed roughly half hour/40 minute, very complimentary in-depth look at the role of Gander, Newfoundland on 9/11 . . . . . placed smack dab in the middle of their Saturday afternoon Olympic coverage. Nice but weird given the context.
