He's got my vote too! The players who started in the fourth line in the beginning of the Olympic made the difference in this team. Toews were awesome on both offense and defense. It sure helps that his line has to play against the 4th liners from another team. Iginla were added on the first line with Crosby and Crosby started clicking. The line didn't score in the past few games but they had lots of chances. Brenden Morrow were added to Getzlaf and Perry's line and ignited those guy's butt and the line started clicking. Another thing Nash started playing well when he was put in Toews line. Richard did the same. I think the Sharks line were the weakest amongst on the team, but they had some good chances though.
The defense impressed me especially Drew Doughty. I have doubt about this guy before the Olympic maybe because I only see his play against the Flames. Weber was solid and Niedermayer struggled early in the Olympic but came back and played a heck of game the last few games. Even Pronger who I think were the worst defenseman in this team came through especially today's game. Heck I was cheering for Luongo as well...but after today's game, I will hate it again.
Mike Babcock didn't think he had a good start with some questionable calls on line ups but he came through after he found the right line combinations. The only question I have I have after the German games were putting Bergeron on defensive faceoff all the time when he keep losing the faceoff. He was also on ice when Slovaks scored those 2 goals after losing the faceoff.
Hats off to the Americans as well. They played a hard fought game. I am not sure if any game will top this game off. Refs called the best hockey and let the players dictate the game. The penalties they called only moron can miss it.
