Out of the 25 medals that we have won so far, which has meant the most to you?
So far Canada has won 25 medals (and is guaranteed 1 more in hockey tomorrow). But putting hockey aside for now, out of the 25 won to date, which has meant the most to you/have you been the most happy with?
For me, I am proud of all of the athetes but I would rank it this way so far:
1. Joannie Rochette (Bronze)
2. Alexandre Bilodeau (Gold)
3. Kevin Martin (Gold)
Honorable mention to Clara Hughes for a Bronze at 37 years old.
Rochette had an outstanding performance the day after her 55 year old mother died of a heart attack and had one of the best performances i've seen a Canadian athlete give.
Bilodeau broke the curse of finally winning a gold medal for Canada on home soil and I remember Canada was so happy the moment he won. We won a lot more after that but that 1st one was special.
Martin missed out on gold in 2002 (won silver) after missing a shot and came back 8 years later and wins the gold.
Like I said I am proud of them all but to this point these are the 3 that really made me proud. (Hughes gets the honorable mention for winning bronze at 37 years old). For the record, gold tomorrow would be the one that would make me the most happy although Rochette's performance was something that made me feel the proudest I perhaps have ever felt of an athlete.
