I can see your point. My thinking is that kipper botched the first goal and the entire team buckled. I'm certainly not saying it's all his fault, just that he's the top player on a team that has put forth a horrible effort and he needed to be better. Would the outcome be different if he was better? I doubt it.
One of Kipper's strongest attributes is how he bounces back. Of course olympic meltdowns seem to affect euro goalies quite a bit, I think Kipper will be fine. I think he's been great all season.
