Yes....yes.... you deserve to celebrate like you fought a valiant war. With the gruelling competition, filled with incredibly skilled oponents, you deserve to party HARDER than if you won the Stanley Cup. It was a long hard training road filled with GUTSY losses against the likes of The Lake Bonavista Esso 'AA' Warriors, and the Falconridge 'Murray's scrap Metal' 'AA' Falcons.
But you perservered, and just like an NHL team, playing against a community college team, you ran up the score and stomped your opponents into an unrecognizable blood clot with unbelievable sportsmanship and class to get to the excitement of the final game we all predicted 4 years ago. It was an amazing tournament, with an exciting predictable climax, as my expecatations were exactly fullfilled. What an exciting event!
Seriously though, that was as embarassing as watching them run up the score 18 - 0. As much as I love the freebie Gold, this event has no place in the Olympics until more than 2 countries can compete. I love the gals, they compete so well in so many other events, but womens hockey is so full of fail compared to mens in every way.
If you enjoy what you see on the ice, then I implore you to visit your local arena and catch a AAA midget game. It is much faster, infinitely more skilled, and at least they hit.
