The mentioning of the celebration afterwards is just an excuse for the IOCto release the statement that it could drop women's hockey.
Should the team have exercised more discipline with media still around - sure... however anyone who's been involved in championship games would have done similar things.
I find the IOC statements to be in the most unfairness of competition.
Instead of saying we may drop the sport if competition doesn't improve - why doesn't the IOC work with the other countries to get more women involved in the sport.
I guess men's hockey should've been dropped due to Canada's dominance the first 20 years it was in the Olympics...

- 1932:
- Needing a win or a tie to secure another gold medal, Canada plays the United States to a draw in a marathon final game. The match is called after three scoreless overtime periods.
- 1936:
- After four consecutive gold medals and a 20 straight victories, Canada loses to Great Britain and finishes second. Ten of the 12 British players live in Canada, including goaltender Jimmy Foster, who allows three goals in eight games.
1948: - Canada and Czechoslovakia finish with identical 7-0-1 records, with Canada winning the gold medal on total goals scored: 64-62.

Shame on the IOC
