My two cents:

I don't follow 90% of the sports on display at the Winter Olympics in any given year. If Canada brings home gold in hockey, I could honestly care less if we won a medal anywhere else. With that said, we've captured 15 medals so far, are guaranteed medals in women's hockey and curling, SHOULD medal in men's curling and hockey (fingers crossed) plus a few more medals in other events. This should be one of the highest medal totals ever for Canada at the Winter Olympics, plus the load of gold medals we've won having never captured a gold on home ice before, I think we're looking pretty good. Like I said at the start, I don't follow most of the events here, but once every four years I cheer our athletes on simply because they're wearing the Maple Leaf and I figure a 5th place finish amongst the best in the world (especially if we're so woefully underfunded) is pretty damn good.

As another poster pointed out, we have 10% of the United States's population. Based on demographics, we should only have 3 medals right now. So the fact we have the possibility of cracking 20+ medals to the US nabbing 30+ is a pretty good showing IMO. So if you have a problem with how our athletes are performing, STFU and hand in your passport - time to move somewhere else.
