The Habs have signed Corey Tropp to a 3yr, $0.75mm deal. He is a 3rd round pick of the Sabres from 2007 and is currently a Hobey Baker hopeful with his excellent season with Michigan State.
Tropp is a bit of an interestin case because last year he was suspended for the year with a stick-swinging incident to the neck of an opponent:
He almost quit hockey but decided to come back this year and has lead the Spartans to a great year. We like Tropp's tenacity and the Sabres tend to be very good at drafting NCAA guys so we'll see what happens with Corey...we won't be surprised to see him playing in the AHL next year.
