People overestimate how much coaching actually effects the game.
It matters, don't get me wrong, but as you alluded to, it comes down to the players. Would playing Iginla regularly with Crosby/Nash been the difference in this game? Would they have dominated like they should have? Perhaps, but my guess is no.
Tonight they had no execution and couldn't seem to move the puck fast enough. Coaching won't fix that.
