Kind of off topic but the NSA makes the CIA look like girl scouts. I believe the NSA is as big as all the other agencies (FBI, CIA, ATF etc) combined. I'm not sure exactly to what extent the NSA runs covert ops like the CIA though.
That doesn't really have much to do with your post, just the mention of the CIA being less dangerous brought that to mind.
