Again, figure skating was always competitive, even if the Leninists always won. They were doing the same jumps, moves, etc. It's not like the Soviets were doing quads while the rest were skating on double blades. And, again, you can say figure skating is/was the flagship sport of the Winter Games. Women's Hockey not so much...
