I had a situation kinda like this....
Wifes cousin buys a new car, then writes it off within a week. I just put my Mustang Convertible up for sale for $6500. Tell him I will sell it to him for $5000 he is going to come down on weds to pick it up. I take it in to OK tire on monday to get the spare tires I have for it put on, and have them check the car over. They tell me that the rack and pinion is almost worn out, and will probally need to be replaced within a couple months. So I tell wifes cousin and agree to take an extra $500 off to help cover rack and pinion. He comes drives it, loves it, pays and takes it home.
2 weeks later he calls and says its in the shop and the whole back end is falling apart, and that we tried screwing him over and that they wont let it back out on the road and its going to need $2000 worth of work (of which some is for the rack and pinion) and he wants his money back for the car or for use to repair it.
I laughed and hung up. He drives the car for 2 weeks and does who knows what to it (probally hit a curb) and wants his money back? Plus I had a shop go through it 2 days before he bought it.
Edit: Forgot that he threatened legal action and I talked to trotman and fredr123 about it. Thanks guys.
