Either too fast or not the right line...the physcological factor of being outside the "recommended" blue line at best slows them down, at worst, screws them up so bad that they push too hard later on and bail...at least 3 have bailed after this point so far.
Plus, the fact that so many have crashed has to get some of the later skiiers thinking about it...and maybe the course conditions have slightly changed too over the past hour.

The blue lines are on the course to help the skiers see the undulations/bumps in the snow.
