Anyone know why people in Vic Park were against the Saddledome?
The Stampede Grounds were already a scenic parking lot and the Corral, Big Four and all the other Stampede stuff was already there. It's not like they were tearing down a bird sanctuary and an orphanage to build a hockey rink.
I don't mean to sound like a snot (even though I know I will) but wasn't Victoria Park a rundown neighbourhood long before the Saddledome? And by rundown I mean abandoned houses, hookers and crime? It seems kind of weird to me that they'd mount a protest that could put something like the Olympics in jeopardy.
