Its a real shame to see that protests are going on, when this is supposed to be a celebration for our nation. Unfortunately Protests happen, especially during big events like the Olympics.

I think its a little short sighted to think that if the Games were held in Calgary there would be zero protests and everything would be peachy keen. It doesn't matter where the Olympics are held. There is going to be protests. So far, the protests have been minor (Could be ALOT worse) and if it wasn't for that 1 percent that join protests for the simple reason of causing as much chaos/damage as possible I think the protests would be pretty peaceful.

As already mentioned, this 1 percent tend to be true terrorists. People that have anarchist tattoos and travel to ANY big event they can get to, regardless of what City the event is in, with hopes of causing as much chaos as possible. It's a little ignorant to solely blame Vancouverites for these types, and even more short sighted to blame Vancouverites/the city of Vancouver, when its the VAST vast minority that are causing this unnecessary violence.

Bottom line is that If your going to blame Vancouver and Vancouver alone for all the problems of these Olympics, you shouldn't be taking credit for everything that Vancouver does well, as a Canadian success. You can't have it both ways.

Were in this together As a country, and hopefully this will be an Olympics to remember for all the right reasons.
