Could Overbay play 3B? Cannon arm, great footwork, high baseball IQ.

I'm thinking if this new guy acquired from the Doc trade, Wallace, is the everyday 1st baseman then Overbay and Encarnocion could platoon 3B on handedness (with Overbay backing up Wallace), Snider/Wells/Lind in RF/CF/LF, Ruiz and Bautista as a supersubs then that's a full lineup with a lot of very friendly or expiring contracts.

But if Overbay is a liability at 3B then this team looks a lot worse. I can't think of many lefties on the hot corner, is it a bad idea?
