Trust me, I'm a total beer snob and if there were something better than Amstel Light at Grimaldi's I would have had it. They had standard US macrocrap and Brooklyn Lager at Grimaldi's. I tried the Brooklyn Lager and it was just blah. There was nothing to it you couldn't find anywhere else in any beer, despite the fact I have heard good things about that brewery. They didn't have any of the other beers you mentioned at Grimaldi's so I haven't tried those.
Speaking of which, I was excited to try a Rogue beer and found the Chocolate stout in a bar on the upper east side. To be honest, it was only stout in name and colour. It was not in the least bit chocolately and had that carbonated feel I get from Sam Adams. I haven't tried many US microbrews but the best one I've had so far is the IPA by Lagunitas, although I'm not a fan of US brews on the whole. Sam Adams, Moose Drool, Brooklyn Lager, Rogue Chocolate stout, etc I didn't think much of. It was halloween and they had 6 different pumpkin seasonal brews I tried in a sampler and only one of them was really good. It was at David Copperfields.
