All the best to Jack Layton and family. I think if nothing else, a high profile person getting cancer brings more awareness to the problem and the need for I guess both screening and treatment developments.

The initial screening is the PSA test, which is a simple blood test which is usually done during routine blood work. If you have a family history of prostate cancer, they don't charge you for it.
Its amazing how common this cancer is, even among people who pay close attention to diet and fitness. Get well soon Jack...
