I actually grew some basil from those "Fresh herb" packages from Co-op. The ones that comes with roots and dirt. I would use about half the basil, then just watered it to see if it would grow.

It took a couple of tries (I guess finding one that's still alive) but now I have way more basil then I could ever use.

I've grown it for 6 months and it's now about 3-4 feet tall.

I place the basil on my south facing window and water it everyday. It has even bloomed with flowers.

Probably going to pick up some rosemary/thyme from Golden acre or something in the summer.
