All the garden centers will have the herbs you mentioned come spring time.

Oregano is extremely easy to grow. It can take a lot of frost as well. I plant mine right in the ground in my garden. Come fall, I cut it off and freeze half of it as sprigs. The other half, I remove the leaves. Oregano does not have huge leaves, so I dont chop them.

Rosemary is not hard to grow either, needs a bit more sun, and can become woody. If you keep picking it, you wont have that problem. Rosemary also freezes very well. I freeze it as well come fall. Half I just pull off the leaves and freeze that way. The other half, I pull off the leaves and chop in half or thirds and then freeze.

Basil is the most tempermental of the 3 herbs you mention. It does not take to overwatering whatsoever, or cold damp nights. Basil is much more tender as well so it is best used fresh. If you do have a lot of basil, it will freeze, but wont keep its flavor as long.

If you are thinking of growing these indoors, you will have the most luck with rosemary. It grows more compact. Oregano will grow indoors but tends to be much larger. Basil is so so indoors, depending on its light conditions. It likes light, but not real strong light or not cool light.

At this time of year, you might try this. You can find fresh herbs in most of the grocery stores, that are like a little herb plant with all the roots on. Buy that and plant it indoors, should do pretty well for you since there is quite a root ball attached to those herbs.
