A few things from Maui last week . . . . .

A little boy jealously watches a family at play . . . . .

Below, catching the big surf of Ho'okipa, Maui, self-described windsurfing capital of the world.

Below, a day after running the marathon, a hike up into the mountains on the Waihee Ridge Trail, 1,560 elevation gain on a 8 km round trip.
First guy on the trail so I got to clear all the spiderwebs out of the way and Maui has some awesome looking spiders!!!!
I also hiked down into Haleakala Crater a bit . . . . easy to go down, harder to climb back to 10,000 feet in the fog and rain.

Below, not a great picture, just blasted out the car window, but this was part of the marathon course, a point-to-point run
from Wailea to Lahaina, 26 miles or 42 km. Temperatures pushing into the mid-80's (near 30 Celcius) by the end destroyed myself
and, judging by average times, most others but it was a great experience anyway. Right about here, in this idyllic setting,
I passed a guy doing the big Technicolour Yawn, with a greenish preference, on the side of the road. Never saw him again.
At the end, after draping an awesome finishers medal around my neck, a very large Hawaiian lady said "Give Big Mama a hug" and
propelled me into her bosom. That was a great hug. I really needed it.

Below, in the moment on Maui . . .

Nice trip, in spite of Air Canada's repeated attempts to avoid getting me there.
