You should also consider how frustrating it is when someone drives the same stretch at the same time everyday and anticipates the merger, thereby getting in the correct lane well ahead of time just to have people create traffic jams by sneaking up in the other lane expecting to be let in by the others who waited patiently.

I'm pretty sure everyone with a drivers liscense and a vehicle knows, it's the ones with logic and common sense who decides not to resort to petty ways of seeking revenge on someone who cut them off. Plus if your so worried about crashing theres defensive driving courses one could take if it would make you safer. As long as there is the ability for anyone over 16 to aquire a liscense there will always be horrible drivers who didn't follow the rules.
