neither guy last night was any good. melvin seemed to be a passable standup fighter but he was so neutralized by josh's attempts to get him to the ground that he became timid to go at him in the second round. of course, it didn't help that he broke his hand in the second either.
where i think melvin made the most critical mistake is that he gave up his back repeatedly in an attempt to get to the half guard, and just got the shinguard punched out of his head. he just showed poor decision-making throughout and once he broke his hand on josh's elbow, he was finished.
