Why do Flames fans keep saying this? His video on TSN.ca from his interview this morning states he did not ask for a trade and Phaneuf was crying. As an Oilers fan, I think Phaneuf was given a tough time by Flames fans. A 24 year old defenseman who has the most goals since he came into the league, has been nominated for a Norris Trophy already and is one of the best young dmen in the game......sure he is having an off year compared to his first 3 years but he is still a franchise defenseman.
