One thing is for sure, Iginla and Regehr are running out of excuses.
1) Word was Iggy wanted Conroy back, and got his wish.
2) Word was Regehr wanted Phaneuf gone, and got his wish.
Oddly enough, those two are both having subpar years. Next time Regehr gets run around on in the defensive zone, I wonder who he'll complain about in the locker room?
Last point: the Flames, as an organization, are now treading in dangerous territory. I do believe that the organization has a positive reputation in the league. However, if they're allowing Iginla and Regehr to generally dictate the team's moves*, then I think it makes for a less attractive situation to prospective free agents. Who wants to be at an organization that they perceive will only treat them well provided they stay popular with the "capos" of the offense and defense?
* I realize that D. Sutter makes the trades. However, I'm not dumb enough to assume that he doesn't try to placate his "core."
