I avoided CP all morning, but am surprised how much people hate this move, especially considering how many people were calling for Phaneufs head all season.

Personally, I never wanted to trade Phaneuf, but I actually like this. In today's NHL, you can sign all star players like we did in Bouw. Trading Dion for a first line center might have felt better immediately, but this may help us on more layers, and there's more to come likely as well.

This core needed a shake up, and there it is. The mental changes this could bring to the team may be the biggest gain of the trade.
