I understand exactly what it's supposed to do. I understand the device category. I know it's not supposed to replace a laptop or a netbook, but I still feel like it needs some additional features to consider it a strong buy. However, having those features like USB or Flash support apparently puts me squarely inside the box, and thus I guess I just don't "get it".
There's nothing wrong with wanting the iPad to support Flash or have a USB port. My wisecrack about the box was in response to you suggesting that a mobile device should be permanently plugged in instead of having a lengthy battery life. Other than that everything's good.

I think the sooner the internet can move past Flash, the better... but it's still a pain to not have it once in a while. The USB thing isn't really that big of a deal, since there are plenty of ways around it. There are apps for transfering data on and off wirelessly, and there are lots of accessories that do (and will) use the Apple port. There is also Bluetooth for connecting a keyboard, etc.

In fact, now that I think about, I can't really think of something I'd need a USB port for... I mean, I'm sure there is something, I just can't think of anything right now.
