What Dell did was apply an evolutionary business practice at best, which was to take a minimal stake in R&D and compete on price, and basically price alone. To say Dell has done anything revolutionary for the PC industry is a joke. Dell has never had a product or technology that innovated and forced other companies to play catch up.
And that's OK, the PC industry needs their version of McDonald's too.
