Instead of watching the television show, I read the Lost wikipedia articles and I think that covers all I need to know to join in an internet discussion :P

How can you watch a show that's gone on for 5 seasons, with 9 thousand characters, Multiple plot twists, mutiple incidents of 30 year time travel, characters that never age and unexplained resurection?
The answer I got....."Cuz It's Good!"
I don't get it.

This is why instead of trying to following the show, I just read the wiki or wikia articles.
I learned a long time ago that the "secret conspiracy backstory" plot that is woven on a grand scale by these writers into these shows rarely pay off (probably since the X-Files) so instead of being hooked and left wondering every episode by a silly cliffhanger or unexplained happening, I will just read about it all when it's over. I don't watch TV anymore, I just read it and then put myself into the shoes of the people who were watching that live and imagine all the things they were thinking (like what the audience was thinking when they first found the hatch, etc.).
I don't really care about the plight or individual daily stories or soap opera squabbles of the day of the little characters, I just want to understand the overall arc and that's what interests me so I might as well just read about it.
