I haven't heard any Damon rumors myself, but I'm personally not a fan of the guy at all. His fielding is absolute junk (I guess as on OFer you can get away with that), and I'm not a fan of his bat although he can come up clutch. I don't think they're in need of a guy like that either (the complacent type). I would have really liked to see the Jays target a guy like Thome who has pop to his bat, but can at the same time accept his role as a bench player at this point in his career. As for Delgado, I used to love the guy back in the day, but he's now a minor leaguer and has zippo to offer with his weight loss (lost the power), and has no speed whatsoever to boot. He also gets me as a crybaby if things don't go his way, and at this point in his career, nothing is going to go his way. I also don't believe in "mentorship" in today's game. Aside from special guys like Halladay, the only things veterans teach young players is how to score with better pickup lines off the field.

So far, I kinda like what AA's doing. He's not half assing the rebuild. He's getting some good prospects and is not misleading the public just to sell tickets. The fans aren't dumb in baseball for the most part. They can tell if a team stinks. The Jays this year should be mediocre, but with the young arms up and coming, they should be pretty solid 3 years down the road. If somehow Lind, Snyder, Hill and Wells can find their power stroke this year, this team could surprise a few people.
