I can't remember ever being asked to "join" their "private club" on any of my visits. I imagine that they slowly forgot or ignored that small part of their license. Too bad it couldn't have been resolved amicably instead of just pulling the plug.

Here's more on that private club issue. Sounds like the owner figured it would be a private (after hours) club or no club at all.
