Ah, I know what magazine you were working for; one of the more tragic ones to fold in the last year, along with Gourmet.
As I see it, the biggest benefit for magazines toward e-publishing is a more subscription driven model, which will provide revenue streams more reliable than ad revenue, and a more efficient distribution model than news-stands.
