The Japanese have it right. Valentine's Day is where the girl gives the guy a gift or gifts. The guy doesn't have to do squat.

A month later on March 14th, the guy gives said girl a gift or gifts, if they choose to. If they want to return the feelings, that is. This day is called White Day.

In South Korea, they celebrate Black Day, a month later even on April 14th, for those 'sharing singleness'; or those who didn't recieve anything on Valentine's Day or on White Day.
