In all seriousness though (well, as serious as I can get discussing religious movements on a Saturday night on a hockey website), I've known plenty of Mormons and they were all pretty much regular folks who happened to believe a few things I think are kinda strange.

I don't know about the Star of Kobol and some of this other stuff, but the Joseph Smith thing with the plates and the hat and the stones and all that -- far as I can tell, it's public knowledge and part of the accepted story.

Questioning it isn't wrong. I agree that piling on the Mormons based on a bunch of half-truths or lies is wrong, but critics didn't pull all this stuff out of thin air.

As usual, I don't disagree with you at all...but you're replying to a post in which I have basically defended a group of people against racism that is not part of their doctrine today.

J Pold tells a different story, but I would restate here that I was never taught anything about dark skinned demons/inferiority/unworthiness garbage. We're talking 70's and 80's here...so quite a few years ago.
