On this first point, i will agree, partially. NBC dictated to Leno that Conan was to take over in 5 years. Leno did agree to it however, He said himself that he didn't want to do the show into his 60's. if he didn't agree, why wouldn't he just move to Fox himself? I agree with those that said Jay should have declined his old time slot. he knew what that would do to the tonight show and it's legacy. He could have just as easily agreed to do other projects for NBC instead.
As for the bashing of old people, if i remember correctly you were the fist one to state that Conan's low brow humour was just not fit for the tonight show. It was merely pointed out that Leno's jokes are no better. instead of a masturbating bear, they had a masturbating band leader who was always high on pot.
