Lawyer are
not allowed to present evidence in court that they know to be false. So it would be the client who would have to make up and tell the story to his lawyer.
And I would rather have the system we have now; as opposed to what we hear of happening 50-150 years ago where if the sherrif thought you were guilty- you were pretty much done.
And here is where I will throw out my usual plug- guys if your wife/ kids/ step kids are pissing you off and you don't know what to do- call 211 and they can direct you to the correct family support group. Asking for help takes a big man to do it; as opposed to what you might think about how it makes you less of a man.
If you are mad, man up and ask for help.
