I have no problem with it. Alberta is part of the country of Canada, we pay Federal taxes and the Federal goverment should be dolling out stuff like this, not individual provinces/states/cities etc unless you have a direct connection to the area.

Tsunami was different as that was a marketing decision as well as alot Albertans having relatives there. I would be surprised if there were more than 10000 people in Alberta who were directly affected by this in a meaningful way.
