The worst thing engineers did with Deerfoot is made many of the on and off ramps criss-cross.
The brilliance is blinding.
Let's make a load of cars get on and get off the same short road while trying to get up to 100 km/h.
Memorial, 130th, Anderson/Southland...You look at those roads, and that's where many of the traffic snarls happen. (It also doesn't help that the multi-lane highway widdles down to two lanes at Anderson).
The freeways in Los Angeles for example, while busy, are well engineered. Rarely do you see criss-cross traffic when getting on and off.
Oh, and I suppose we need another couple freeways...
