Deerfoot/Glenmore/Crowchild/Nose Hill is 100% the fastest route (outside of rush hour).

Many navigation systems prefer 16th ave because it's a 'highway' and Crowchild isn't listed as one.

Not only does Crowchild run NW/SE for a good stretch cutting down the distance, it's also freeflowing and 80km/h compared to 50km/h and full of lights (16th).
