Two sixty story buildings and they'd be paying for it in 5 years.
Back in the day, Amoco was to build an exact 32 (approx) story tower as the one they have at 4 Ave and 2nd St now, across the street where Japanese Village is/was.
That was soon after the current one opened, and still had newly acquired Dome people still in Dome Tower, so they needed more room. Amoco had close to 2000 employees at the time, including my father. This was late 80's-very early 90's.
When I worked there one summer in the mid 90's in the building operations department, there was half that. Much less now, 10 years later after BP stepped in, and made Amoco a branch of the US operations, as oppsed to a Canadian entity.
I think they can fill the Encana space because its in 3 smaller spaces. Vacancy rates are about 5% or lower, so short term, those are some prime spaces.
