A good indication as to whether or not you have a chance is to talk to the girl about how much she values her parents' opinions and wishes, and then find out how her parents feel about her marrying a non-Asian guy. If her parents are stuck on her marrying an Asian guy, your chances are pretty slim.

As a honky with some experience in this area, I must say that this cannot be stressed enough.
You'd hate to make plans to move to some far off land for some dame only for her to say "oh yeah, my dad says I'm staying here in his house, and you have to live in another town if you come here." The sooner you learn something like that, the better.
