The most recent trade saw us trade out Nikita Filatov for Luke Schenn.

"Although we believe Filatov has huge upside and will come back next year and with Zherdev and Radulov also on the team we just needed to clean up the team." Said Schum

With already a strong defense at the pro level, Schenn will likely play out the rest of this year in the ECHL and join the Flyers next year.

"We still believe Filatov's star potential is higher than Schenn but he also seems like a coach killer, wanting Hitchcock out of Columbus and throwing his WJC coach under the bus in a post game interview as well. Character wise we get the better player." Said Schum

In the move that was made couple of days ago, the Flyers trade Ruslan Fedotenko for James Wisniewski.

"We have enough depth forward therefore with the recent departure of Ryan Whitney we need a 7th defenseman and James will be able to provide that."
