Policy is still voted on by members. Any 5 can bring a policy forward; but it has to pass a vote of the members as a whole. Danielle has one vote; just as the rest of us do.

Having said that though; a strong leader can (should) be able to promote their beliefs and get members on side.

This actually applies to all members. For example; several years ago we had an archaic policy on the definition of marriage. I put forth a motion to remove it from our policy set; I spoke to why it should be removed and was able to get the members to agree.

As we grow our chances of producing and passing, sound, common sense policy also grows. The more people that vet the ideas; the less chance of the wingnut ideas getting through.
